We then headed to the airport. Singapore definitely is a one-of-a-kind
place. It is so orderly and neat and manicured, it almost feels like that old
TV show, the Prisoner. The highway to the airport is lined with beautiful
plants and trees that are trimmed twice daily. Amazingly, they all are in pots
and can be moved such that the highway can be converted to a runway if needed!
We had several people tell us this, but I never figured out whether this was in
case of a natural disaster or a man made one.
We had a very long flight to Osaka. We just barely made the last train
from the airport into Osaka to get to our hotel, the Intercontinental. The
hotel is gorgeous - modern yet with a Japanese traditional flair. I fell in
love with the kimono pajamas in the room, and promptly jumped in the soaking tub
before getting into bed (not while in the kimono pajamas - I put these on
after).
